Hey, steps are steps! And when you're here, I hope you'll come to Braga and let us show you around. :)

I think we're going to make the post this week about our apartment stories, actually. What went wrong (and right) with our first place, and figuring out our second. VERY short version: unforeseeable environmental problems that could have, but were not, fixed in a timely-enough fashion. Stay tuned!

Your upcoming travel plans - particularly the 'hey look at this cool exhibit across the pond, let's go!' - is exactly what I dream of when I dream of moving to Europe. Granted, it's a pretty big pond between Portugal and the UK but the idea's there.

I'm super curious to hear what went down with the apartment, and would love tips on what to do to hopefully avoid landing in the same situation, but all in good time. As I commented some months ago (and certainly wouldn't expect you to remember!), we're still easily a decade-plus from being able to turn the dream into reality. But, we did just book airfare for our first-ever visit to Portugal near the end of the year. As they say, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step -- or a journey of 5,195 miles in this case.
